Scott Best serves as a Senior Advisor to StoneCastle Securities and its Private Credit Trading team. Drawing on decades of experience in structured and esoteric credit markets, Scott provides strategic counsel and perspective on the firm's secondary trading activities. His deep expertise and long-standing relationships in the market make him a trusted resource as the firm continues to grow its private credit platform.

Mr. Best spent much of his career at Lehman Brothers, where he founded the firm’s Esoteric Credit Trading business in the early 1990s. He built the desk to command the top market share in private placement and esoteric secondary trading in each of his 13 years running the business at Lehman Brothers trading private placements, credit tenant leases, project finance, infrastructure notes, and structured aircraft, rail and shipping securities. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2002.

Mr. Best joined StoneCastle in 2010, reuniting with former Lehman colleagues to start the firm’s corporate credit trading platform.

Mr. Best earned a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honors from Sheffield City Polytechnic and a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
